I didn't think a film about coral reefs could make me cry, yet the tears flowed freely. This film shows the efforts to capture time-lapse footage of coral bleaching - the first stage of death for coral (which is happening at an alarmingly fast rate, only we can't see it). The dedicated team of divers, scientists, researchers, and underwater photography experts all share profound love and respect for the ocean and the coral that finds a home in its depths. They feel a deep obligation to their time-sensitive quest, and the filmmaking follows it so closely that we feel both their achievements and their setbacks and failures as our own. A gripping film about those documenting our coral reefs while they're still here but fading fast.
