Two intertwining tales merge in the beautiful and sensitive dual-autobiography IN A WHISPER.

Heidi and Patricia were best friends growing up in Fidel Castro's Cuba. They were joined by a love of cinema and collaborated in their early careers. But soon, "suffocated by censorship and absurd obstacles," Patricia emigrated, ending up "illegally" in Spain. Over a decade later, Heidi leaves, eventually settling in Switzerland, and the two lose touch.

Filmmakers at their core, both filmed their lives, documenting everything. When the two reconnect, they send each other these video diaries, "catching up" on lost time. It is this footage, brilliantly weaved together, that the film is composed of. What unfolds is a portrait of two lost halves reuniting as a whole while simultaneously acting as a study on migration, womanhood, love, and friendship.
