KING IN THE WILDERNESS

1/3
2018 / 111 mins / USA / English
Comprised of never-before-seen footage, interviews with those closest to him, and historical archives, KING IN THE WILDERNESS follows Dr. MLK Jr. in the last years of his life, showing a more vulnerable personal side to the legendary figure. From 1965 to 1968, King encountered opposition from all sides of the political spectrum, and his criticism of the Vietnam War made him an enemy in the White House. Facing mounting pressures and setbacks, the last years of King's life took a significant toll on him. They were also some of his most introspective years. Viewers are brought into the pulpit of the great orator and then to his intimate and private surprise birthday party. We are given a portrait of a legendary Civil Rights icon and a peek behind the scenes of the marches, boycotts, and speeches. A look into the soul of a great man.
