After her mother’s passing, Judith Helfand and her two brothers must clean out her apartment. One brother takes a few pieces of furniture, the other takes a conch shell, and Judith takes pretty much everything else. During this process, Judith ponders the connection between our love for a person and the objects that made up their life, and whether little pieces of people can live on in all this stuff. This short film was eventually made into a feature-length film of the same name in which Judith becomes a mother herself.
