"Nsenene" is the Lugandan language word for Ruspolia differens, also known as grasshoppers. As both a delicacy and source of income in Uganda, nsenene are the focus of this short film. While nsenene are caught at night, director Michelle Coomber crafts a beautiful nocturnal examination of their role, importance, and myth for a Ugandan community. Leading the viewers is the poetic narration of Ibrah; he is our guide into this unique world of grasshopper hunting.
