THE BEAUTY PRESIDENT

1/3
2021 / 10 mins / USA / English
A drag queen for president? She's got my vote.
You probably won't read about Terence Alan Smith in your run-of-the-mill American History class - and what a shame that is - because it was him, in drag as Joan Jett Blakk who was a registered candidate for the presidency of the United States in 1992 as the AIDS epidemic ran rampant. Decades later, Smith recounts this time in his life and what it continues to mean for him and others today. It is an important reminder that not all those worthy of it end up in the history books. But thankfully, some will have a film about them.
