For decades, Dr. Morris filmed his family – the births and deaths, joys and sorrows. Fleeing a devastated post-War Europe, this eccentric English doctor and his wife immigrated to the newly founded town of Eilat. There, they raised their children in an idyllic paradise, complete with crocodiles as family pets. Years after the doctor’s death, his forgotten film reels are found, and unusual family secrets unfold.

Speaking to Film Fest Report, directors Itamar Alcalay and Meital Zvieli described finding the archival materials for the first time, left unseen for many years before Dr. Morris’ death: “The Morris family opened the closet where Dr. Morris' 8mm films were stored four years ago. We were amazed by how carefully they were arranged and cataloged alongside all his filming and editing equipment. We knew at that moment that Dr. Morris was not only a pilot and a doctor, but a true filmmaker. A real miracle had happened to us. When we started watching the reels, not only did we get full confirmation that this is an archive of a great filmmaker but we also discovered the whole incredible story of the family for the first time.”
