Would you buy a house where multiple people were murdered and buried in the backyard? Probably not? Well, the same can't be said for Tom and Barbara. In 2001, the couple bought a serial killer's former home in Sacramento, California. Despite a new coat of paint and remodeling, they realize changing the community's mind about the so-called "murder-house" isn't so simple. In their wonderfully quirky way, Tom and Barbara maintain that despite its history, the house itself is innocent and try to communicate that in wacky ways to their neighbors. Despite its sometimes upsetting subject matter, the film mirrors the couple's eccentricity and offbeat tone.
