After her daughter Violeta's diagnosis with a rare skeletal disease, Debora makes the difficult decision to immigrate to Israel from Argentina so she can receive the necessary medical treatment. Debora leaves behind her home and two older sons, Violeta's brothers, whom she has grown up without. Debora works tirelessly cleaning homes around Jerusalem to make ends meet. Life is challenging for both her and Violeta. But with Violeta's bat mitzvah approaching, Debora does everything in her power to make it perfect for her daughter. VIOLETA MI VIDA is a delicate and tactful film. It seamlessly intersperses moments of great joy and humor with those of sorrow and anger, mimicking life's waves of good and bad, easy and hard. It is a quiet and personal film, but undercurrents tackling themes of immigration, motherhood, and family are ever-present. Often sweet and always touching, VIOLETA MI VIDA is an endearing piece of cinema about the love between a mother and daughter.
